Some more Swedish gorgeousness.

The first and third picture are taken with my Canonet QL-19 and a regular 200 iso filmrole. The second one is shot with my Nikon Fg-20 and a color implosion filmrole I bought at Adox in Berlin. I never edit my lomo-saturday pictures digitally.

Souvenirs

What I love most about going on a holiday, is going to foreign thrift stores and interior design shops. So inspiring, especially in Scandinavia. I found the watering can and pink glass bowl thrifting in Sweden and I bought the plate and tray at Lagerhaus.

Talking about inspiration: I stumbled upon a few great video’s at Inspiration Point with Jonathan Adler a couple of days ago. I am a big fan of Jonathan Adler’s work, it’s so good, fun and clever. Be sure to check these video’s out, I think they’re phenomenal. Enjoy!

Waar ik het meest van houd op vakantie, is om naar buitenlandse kringlopen en interieurwinkels te gaan. Zo inspirerend, vooral in Scandinavië. Ik vond de gieter en het roze schaaltje in een Zweedse kringloop en kocht het bordje en het dienblad bij Lagerhaus.

Over inspiratie gesproken: een paar dagen geleden kwam ik geweldige filmpjes tegen op Inspiration Point with Jonathan Adler. Ik ben groot fan van zijn werk, het is zo mooi, grappig en slim. De video’s zijn echt de moeite waard, geniet ervan!

Holiday home

Just like last year in France, we found a perfect holiday home. In the middle of a Swedish forest this time. Everything was so small and cute. I loved the old fashioned decor and T. especially loved lighting the fire every night.

Net als vorig jaar in Frankrijk, vonden we dit jaar een perfect vakantiehuisje. Middenin een Zweeds bos. Alles was zo klein, schattig en kneuterig. Ik vond de ouderwetse inrichting geweldig en T. vond het vooral fantastisch om elke avond een vuurtje te stoken.

Fair

As promised, here are my impressions from the Yvestown Fair that took place last saturday. It was a great day, I loved meeting old and new blogfriends. In these pictures you see the fabulous work of Anki, Nina, Ingrid, Daan, Ellen and Christine.

Zoals beloofd is hier mijn impressie van de Yvestown Fair afgelopen zaterdag. Het was een heerlijke dag, ik hou ervan om oude en nieuwe blogvrienden te zien. Op de foto’s zie je werk van Anki, Nina, Ingrid, Daan, Ellen en Christine.

Weekend

The weekend is at it’s end already. How is it possible weekend days fly by so quickly? I went to the Yvestown Fair and bought these amazing plates made by Nina. I’ll post my fair-impression later this week. And I got a new pair of glasses!

Het weekend zit er alweer op. Hoe kan het toch dat weekenddagen zo snel omvliegen? Ik ging naar de Yvestown Fair en kocht deze geweldige borden bij Nina. Ik post mijn fair-foto’s later deze week. En ik heb een nieuwe bril!

Outspoken

A few weeks ago I went to concept store Outspoken in the back of art gallery Majke Hüsstege in my hometown Den Bosch. It was my first visit to this art gallery (I don’t consider myself an art buyer just yet) but I was amazed. Great works of art that got my mind racing, next to affordable pieces of design. The combination of high end art and the concept store in the back is brilliant. Do visit when in town! Outspoken has a cool instagram account too.

Art work on the first picture is by Ted Noten (who has a very inspiring exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Den Bosch at the moment, fun, sympathetic and inspiring), second picture is Growth I, II, II by Marko Vuijk. Stool on the 3rd picture is by Petra Vonk, lamp on the 5th picture is by Studio Daniel, white vase on the last picture by Cor Unum. For information on other items, please contact Majke Hüsstege.

Een paar weken geleden ging ik naar concept store Outspoken achterin kunstgalerie Majke Hüsstege in mijn hometown Den Bosch. Het was de eerste keer dat ik de kunstgalerie bezocht (ik zie mezelf nog niet als kunstkoper) maar het bezoek verraste me. Geweldige kunst die mijn hoofd overuren liet maken, naast betaalbaar design. De combinatie van die high end werken met de concept store is briljant. Ga erheen als je in de buurt bent! Outspoken heeft ook een gaaf instagram account.

Kunstwerk op foto 1 is van Ted Noten (die op dit moment een geweldige tentoonstelling heeft in het Stedelijk Museum Den Bosch, grappig, innemend en inspirerend), het werk op de tweede foto is Growth I, II, II by Marko Vuijk. Poef op foto drie is van Petra Vonk, de lamp op de vijfde foto is van Studio Daniel en witte vaas op de laatste foto van Cor Unum.
