Blessed


De week begon met autopech en stress. Het was ook nog eens te donker voor het nemen van foto’s, dus stak ik maar wat kaarsen aan. Het einde van de week was volledig tegengesteld met geluk, licht en rust. We kregen fijn bezoek waarmee we (voor de verandering) sushi aten en T. en ik maakten voor het eerst in bijna tien jaar samen een boswandeling.
En niet te vergeten: ik kreeg mijn 100ste volger! Wat een fijn gevoel dat er zoveel mensen zijn die het leuk vinden om een kijkje te nemen in mijn leven!

The week started with car-troubles and stress. On top of that, it was too dark to take decent pictures, so I lit some candles. The end of the week was quite the opposite with happiness, light and peace. We got nice company with whom we ordered sushi (for a change) and T. and I took a walk in the woods together, for the first time in nearly ten years.
And last but not least: I got my 100th follower! What a great feeling that so many people like to take a little peak in my life!

Enig

Afgelopen zaterdag was ik met Anki en Yvonne in Amsterdam. Gezellig en onwijs inspirerend! Ik kocht fantastische theedoeken van Hay ontworpen door Scholten en Baijings, een vogel-broche van Petra Boase en een horloge van Fullspot. Mooi design maakt me blij!

Last saturday I went to Amsterdam with Anki and Yvonne. So much fun and very inspiring! I bought amazing tea-towels by Hay designed by Scholten en Baijings, a bird brooch by Petra Boase and a watch by Fullspot. Pretty design makes me happy!

Het was een week van uitersten. Ik brak een spiegel, stond onder een koude douche dankzij een lek onder de vloer in de bijkeuken, ik werkte hard en we kregen vervelend familienieuws. Daar tegenover stonden geweldig leuke dingen: een avondje uit met Wendel, de vondst van twee stoeltjes bestemd voor de stort en een ontzettend gezellige dag met Anki en Yvonne. We gingen naar Flavourites Live, waar veel leuke webwinkels stonden, waar veel leuks te koop was en waar ik bovenstaande tas van Etsy kreeg. De foto’s volgen als mijn rolletje ontwikkeld is.

It was a week of extremes for me. I broke a mirror, had a cold shower thanks to a leak under the floor of our utility room, I worked hard and we got miserable family news. on the opposite of that were a lot of good things: I had a nice night out with Wendel, found two chairs that were headed to the dump and had a great day out with Anki and Yvonne. We went to Flavourites Live, where we saw some great webshops, lots of great handmade stuff and where I got the bag seen above by Etsy. I’ll show the pictures as soon as they’re developed.

Ik had een week vol ontspanning. Ik ging met mijn peettante in haar sauna, met Anki naar Tilburg (waar ik bovenstaande snijplank kocht van Noortje) en hing een hele avond in mijn bubbelbad, met disco-lamp. Dat bad is tot dusver de beste aankoop voor ons huis.

I had a week full of relaxation. With my godmother I went in her sauna, I visited Tilburg with Anki (where I bought the cutting board seen above by Noortje) and enjoyed my very own whirlpool bath with disco lamp, for an entire evening. The bath is the best purchase for our house so far.

Een drukke week achter de rug, met veel leuke bezoekjes aan leuke mensen. Ondertussen is er ook geklust in huis en staat de prachtige Smeg-vriezer eindelijk op zijn plek. Vandaag hebben we gezellig bijgekletst en heerlijk gegeten bij vrienden Daisy en William. Zoon Tim is een masterchef in de dop zoals jullie zien. Daisy had een lief cadeau: ze leest mijn blog regelmatig en gaf me daarom bovenstaande kaart: geweldig!

I’ve had a busy week, with tons of visits to nice people. In the meantime there has been some work going on at home and the beautiful Smeg freezer finally stands in it’s place. Today we’ve chatted up and had a delicious meal with our friends Daisy and William. Their son Tim is a budding master-chef as you can see. Daisy had a sweet gift: she reads my blog regularly and gave me a card which says ‘I count my blessings’: so nice!

Lomo-saturday


Het duurde een eeuwigheid voordat dit zwart-witrolletje vol was. Het is namelijk alweer een hele tijd geleden dat ik met Anki bij Yvonne op bezoek ging in België. Ik ben nog steeds onder de indruk van de ruimte en de sfeer in haar huis. Vandaag spraken we toevallig weer af met z’n drieën en het was weer zo gezellig!

It took ages before this black and white role was filled. It is quite a while ago that Anki and I went to visit Yvonne in Belgium. I am stilled baffled by the size and atmosphere of her home. Today the three of us happened to meet again, and once again we had a great time!

Gisteren ging ik met Anki en Yvonne naar de Woonbeurs voor een Bloggers Meet up georganiseerd door VT Wonen. Het was bijzonder om al die geweldige bloggers te ontmoeten en ik deed een ton aan inspiratie op de Woonbeurs op. Ik kocht er onder andere bovenstaande broches van Tas-ka, zag verschillende interpretaties van interieur-trends, werd geïnspireerd door de stand van Mariska Meijers (zie bovenstaand roze logo) en maakte foto’s met mijn analoge camera. Nog even wachten op de resultaten dus.
Verder genoot ik deze week van mijn ouders die vol verhalen terugkwamen van hun eerste vakantie samen (ze bezoeken vaak vrienden en familie, of gaan met ze op pad, samen weg was minstens 30 jaar geleden), werd ik enorm blij van ontbijten in de zon vandaag en van een verjarende vriendin die een heel mooi nieuw levensjaar verdient.

Wat me deze week ook heel blij maakte, waren alle lieve reacties en complimenten op mijn blogverjaardag. Mijn hart maakte een sprongetje bij het zien van alle comments! (Het zijn trouwens maar twee kussens hoor, met ieder twee verschillende kanten ;))

Yesterday I went to the Woonbeurs Bloggers Meet up organized by VT Wonen, with Anki and Yvonne. It was so special to meet all these great bloggers and I’ve been so inspired by the Woonbeurs. I bought the brooches by Tas-ka as seen above, saw different interpretations of interior trends, was inspired by the Mariska Meijers stand (the pink logo above is hers) and made pictures with my analogue camera. So I need some patience to see the shots I took.
Furthermore I enjoyed my parents who came back with lots of stories from their first holiday together (usually they visit  family or friends or go on holiday with them, it was at least 30 years ago the went just the two of them), I  was so happy eating breakfast in the sun today and enjoyed the birthday of a friend who deserves a great new year of life.


What made me very happy this week too, were all these sweet comments and nice compliments on my blogbirthday. My heart made a leap seeing all those reactions! (By the way, there are only two cushions, but they each have different sides ;))

Deze week was weer druk. Een greep uit wat ik deed: ik heb afgesproken met vriendinnen, heb me ongans gewerkt, we aten een mierzoet toetje, hebben het barbecue-seizoen waardig afgesloten, kregen een rondleiding op het bouwterrein van De Gruyter Fabriek (daarover later meer) en ik kreeg de orchidee terug die mijn schoonmoeder had gered (nadat ik hem had laten verdorren…)

This week was another busy one. To name a few of the activities: I’ve seen a few friends, worked my ass off, we ate a honey-sweet desert, closed off the barbeque-season with dignity, got a tour around the building site of the De Gruyter Fabriek (more of that visit later) and I got the orchid back that my mother-in-law has saved (after I had dehydrated it…)

Deze week was mijn T. weer thuis! Erg fijn, ik had hem gemist. Daarbij vierden we zijn verjaardag in de zon. Met chocoladetaart en lieve mensen om ons heen. De taartschep van Pylones is zo handig en leuk: hij staat op zijn pootjes en kijkt je aan alsof je nog een punt zou moeten pakken. En we hebben nogal wat taart over, dus we gehoorzamen maar.


This week my T. was back home! I enjoyed it so much, I’ve missed him during his holiday. We also celebrated his birthday, in the sun. With chocolate cake and sweet people around us. The cake-knife by Pylones is so practical and fun: it stands on his paws and looks at you like you should take another piece. And we have lot’s of leftover cake, so we obey it.

Een paar weken geleden zijn we uitgenodigd voor een barbecue bij Anki en Casper. Ik vind het zo jammer dat we de herfst niet even uit kunnen stellen, we hebben niet genoeg van dit soort avonden gehad dit jaar.

A few weeks ago we were invited for a barbecue at Anki and Casper‘s. It is a shame we cannot postpone autumn for a little while, we haven’t had enough nights like this during summer.
