Planet Fur

Bij het opruimen van mijn huis, kwam ik wat spullen tegen die me aan Planet Fur’s Marlous deden denken en ik stuurde een pakketje naar haar op. Als bedankje kreeg ik een geweldig magneet-hertje. Wat een superruil!

While decluttering my house, I found some stuff that reminded me of Planet Fur’s Marlous and I sent a package to her. As a thank you I got this amazing deer-magnet. What an amazing swap!

Ik moet het hert wel hoog hangen, want we hebben een pluchen-magneten-rover in huis. Van Gogh heeft inmiddels geen baard en geen armen meer. Hij heeft nog wel allebei zijn oren overigens.

I do have to put the deer up high, because we have a pluche-magnet-thief in our house. At the moment Van Gogh doesn’t have a beard nor any arms left. He does still have both his ears though.

Oxo supersale

Gisteren ging ik naar de sale van Oxo, met Anki en Yvonne. Ik keek er al weken naar uit en was niet teleurgesteld: ik kocht de oranje vaas op de linkerfoto, ontworpen door Foekje Fleur. En ik kocht de Plopp stool van Hay (ik zei toch dat ik fan ben), het is een opblaasbare kruk van metaal. Hoe heb ik ooit zonder gekund?

Yesterday I went to the Oxo sale, with Anki and Yvonne. I was looking forward to it for weeks and was not disappointed: I bought the orange vase on the left picture, designed by Foekje Fleur. And I bought Hay’s Plopp stool (didn’t I tell you I am a fan?), it’s a metal blowup stool. How was I ever able to live without it?

Enig?


Onze kattenbank was toe aan een nieuwe hoes en een oude deken leek me hier perfect voor, maar ik ben nog niet helemaal tevreden met de afwerking. En Schurk zo te zien ook niet.

It was time to put a new cover on our cat-sofa and I thought an old blanket would be perfect for it, but I’m not satisfied with the finishing just yet. And apparently cat Schurk isn’t either.

Blessed

Een mooie week achter de rug, met zon aan het begin en herfst aan het eind. Dat weekje warmte heeft me opgeladen en gaf zin in de herfst. Op de markt kocht ik mandarijnen, ze zijn weer heerlijk zurig nu, verse vijgen en een pompoen. Ik ging ook naar de kringloop en daar vond ik weer wat leuke dingen, waaronder deze ritsen. Vandaag ging ik op feest bij Froukje en Jorg. Zo vaak zie ik ze niet, dus dat was extra leuk.
En: we hebben komende twee weken vakantie (om een paar kleine klussen in huis te doen), wat een zegen!!

I’ve had a great week, with sun at the start and autumn at the end. The week of warmth we had was good and made the start of the colder seasons much nicer. At the market I bought mandarins, I love their sour taste in this time of year, fresh figs and a pumpkin. I also went to the thrift store and I found some nice stuff, including these zippers. Today I went to a party at Froukje and Jorg‘s. Extra special because I don’t see them that often.
And: we have vacation the next two weeks (for a bit of work on the house), what a blessing!!

Lomo-saturday



Deze week zag je op enigheid al heel wat analoge foto’s, afgelopen zaterdag genomen. Die maakte ik overigens lichter en knipte ik uit, om het zoveel mogelijk waarheidsgetrouw te laten zijn. Op lomo-saturday niets van dat: pure foto’s zonder digitale aanpassingen.
Boven kat Aart bovenop de verwarmingsketel, genomen met de Diana camera, met rode flits. Onder kat Schurk in ons tuintje, met de Olympus trip.

This week on enigheid a lot of analogue photography, taken last saturday. I made those somewhat lighter en cropped them, to make them more truthful. On lomo-saturday I don’t use photoshop: pure pictures without digital enhancements.
On top cat Aart, on top of the heating unit, taken with my Diana camera, with red flash. Underneath cat Schurk in our small garden, with the Olympus trip.

>Count your Blessings

Ik heb weer een behoorlijk drukke week achter de rug. Ik heb onder andere veel gewerkt, kreeg lieve post en ben met Anki op bezoek gegaan bij Yvonne (wat een gezelligheid en wat een gaaf huis heeft ze!). Ik heb me niet verveeld in mijn week alleen, het is ook weleens fijn om nergens rekening mee te hoeven houden, behalve de katten. Voor even dan. Gelukkig kwam gisteren mijn lieve T. heelhuids thuis. Al had ‘ie wel wat pijn in zijn schouder van het downhill-fietsen.


I’ve had another busy week. Amongst other things I’ve worked quite a lot, got sweet mail and paid Yvonne a visit, along with Anki (we’ve had a great time and what a house she has!). I wasn’t bored at all, during my week alone, it has it perks to only have cats to take into account. For a while at least. Gladly my sweet T. came home yesterday, in one piece. Although his back muscles were sore thanks to the downhill-bike-rides.

Anki started counting her blessings. Anne, Arnika,Aukje, Belinda, Debora, Esther, Esther, Frederieke, Froukje, Jolanda, Judith, Leontien, Maartje, Maartje, Marie-Lu, Mariëlle, Marit, Marlous, Martine, Maureen, Mireille, Suus and Tabitha joined in.

Traplopen

Op een rommelmarkt op vakantie vond ik dit mandje. Omdat we boven wonen, maar de koelkast en keuken beneden zijn, moeten we vaak met spullen heen en weer. Met de mand kunnen we veel meer in een keer meenemen: ideaal.

On a flea market on my holiday I found this basket. Because we live upstairs but the refrigerator and kitchen are downstairs, we have to take a lot of stuff from one to another. With the basket we can take lot’s more at once: it’s perfect.

>Lomo-saturday

Wat een teleurstelling. Het hele rolletje had ik een verkeerde instelling aanstaan, waardoor alle foto’s te donker en een hoop foto’s helemaal leeg waren. Extra jammer omdat ik voor het eerst een Lomography-rolletje gebruikte. Deze foto’s van de buik van Aart zijn gelukkig wel goed gelukt. Heerlijk beest.

What a disappointment. The whole role I had a wrong setting on, as a result of which all the pictures were too dark and a lot of them complete blank. Extra sad because this was the first time I used a Lomography filmrole. Gladly these pictures of Aart’s belly did work out right. Great animal.

>Havea nicetime alway.

Alweer een rommelmarktvondst. Dit vaasje kon ik niet laten staan. Niet vanwege de vrolijke boodschap of mooie kleuren, maar vooral door de woorden: de schilder had vast geen idee wat hij of zij schrijven moest.

Another fleamarketfind. I had to have this vase. Not because of the positive message or the beautiful colors, but because of the words: the decorator probably didn’t have a clue what he or she was supposed to be writing.
