Woensdag


Vandaag brand ik nog steeds een kaarsje, maar nu voor spoedig herstel. Tegen eerdere verwachtingen in gaat het relatief goed met lieve Froukje en ik ben heel blij en opgelucht. Dank voor alle reacties, de brandende kaarsen op zoveel plekken en voor jullie positieve energie.

Ik maakte vandaag een kerstkrans en genoot van het mooie kerstpakket van Design Lemonade dat ik won bij Desiree van Vosges Paris. Er zat onder andere bovenstaande geweldige kandelaar van Ferm Living in en het witte vaasje van Studio Erik Gutter. Desiree geeft de komende dagen nog meer leuke dingen weg, houd haar conceptblog in de gaten.

Today I lit another candle, but this time for a speedy recovery. Against the odds sweet Froukje is doing relatively well and I’m very happy and relieved about that. Thank you for all the comments, the burning candles everywhere and for your positive energy.


I made a Christmas wrench today and enjoyed the amazing package I received from Design Lemonade that I won at Desiree’s Vosges Paris. Amongst other things, it contained a wonderful candle holder by Ferm Living and a white vase by Studio Erik Gutter. Desiree is still giving away nice gifts the next few days, keep an eye on her conceptblog.

Kerst in huis

Een kerstboom in een verbouwing is niet zo handig. Daarom hang ik mijn kerstslingers dit jaar aan de muur.

A Christmas-tree when your house is in renovation, is not particularly practical. That’s why I hung the ornaments on the wall this year.

Onze kattenbank was toe aan een nieuwe hoes en een oude deken leek me hier perfect voor, maar ik ben nog niet helemaal tevreden met de afwerking. En Schurk zo te zien ook niet.

It was time to put a new cover on our cat-sofa and I thought an old blanket would be perfect for it, but I’m not satisfied with the finishing just yet. And apparently cat Schurk isn’t either.

Enig

Afgelopen zaterdag was ik met Anki en Yvonne in Amsterdam. Gezellig en onwijs inspirerend! Ik kocht fantastische theedoeken van Hay ontworpen door Scholten en Baijings, een vogel-broche van Petra Boase en een horloge van Fullspot. Mooi design maakt me blij!

Last saturday I went to Amsterdam with Anki and Yvonne. So much fun and very inspiring! I bought amazing tea-towels by Hay designed by Scholten en Baijings, a bird brooch by Petra Boase and a watch by Fullspot. Pretty design makes me happy!

Aan het begin van een fotorolletje schiet ik lukraak wat testshots van iets dichtbij. En eigenlijk vind ik die extra foto’s een erg leuke verrassing.

At the beginning of a filmrole I take some test shots from whatever is near. And actually, I quite like these surprising extra pictures.

Blessed


Ik had een week vol ontspanning. Ik ging met mijn peettante in haar sauna, met Anki naar Tilburg (waar ik bovenstaande snijplank kocht van Noortje) en hing een hele avond in mijn bubbelbad, met disco-lamp. Dat bad is tot dusver de beste aankoop voor ons huis.

I had a week full of relaxation. With my godmother I went in her sauna, I visited Tilburg with Anki (where I bought the cutting board seen above by Noortje) and enjoyed my very own whirlpool bath with disco lamp, for an entire evening. The bath is the best purchase for our house so far.

Lucht


Ik hing met mijn Nikon uit het zolderraam en de lucht werd mooier met de minuut. Ik hou van wolken.

I was hanging out the attic window with my Nikon and the sky was prettier by the minute. I love clouds.

Lomo-saturday: DDW III


Officieel dus geen lomo’s, maar dit rolletje vond ik toch wel in het rijtje passen vandaag. Ik zag bij Piet Hein Eek: zwevende fietsen, oude verzamelingen, nieuwe luxe en daarbovenop flessenbootjes van Floris Hovers. Mooier wordt het toch niet?

Officially no lomo’s, but I think this role fits in today anyway. I saw at Piet Hein Eek: floating bikes, old collections, new luxury and on top of that bottleboats by Floris Hovers.
