No, not the Game of Thrones wall but the one in my attic. Our renovation is slowly going the right way, but our living room is still upstairs. It’s pretty cosy on our attic and we have a great view, so that is nice, the only thing is that I keep collecting things for the future living room and I really don’t know where to put them. A while ago I found this mirror planter and the perspex candle holder in a thrift shop. I just couldn’t leave them!

Nee niet de Game of Thrones wall maar de muur op mijn zolder. Onze verbouwing gaat de goede kant op, maar onze woonkamer is nog steeds op zolder. Het is een fijne plek met een prachtig uitzicht, maar het wordt wel steeds vervelender dat ik spullen blijf verzamelen voor de toekomstige woonkamer en er nu geen plek voor heb. Een tijdje terug vond ik deze spiegel-plantenbak en de plexiglas kandelaar bij de kringloop en die kon ik gewoon echt niet laten staan!

When I was asked if I would want to do a review on webshop Leeff, I was easily convinced because they have some pretty cool products in store. I received these grey Bitossi Home-glasses and a ceramic oven dish also by Bitossi Home. I am not the world best cook, so I love it when my kitchen utensils look pretty, at least the appearance is in order then. 😉 I cooked some pasta that wasn’t bad at all and afterwards asked my T. whether it was easy to clean (yes, he did the dishes). He said: aren’t they all? I know better, so that’s another point for the oven dish.

The minty green Riess cooking pan is a vintage find from a few months ago, but Leeff also sells it in their shop. If you like pastel coloured pans, be sure to check the Pentola pans (pink! yellow! lavender!). I really loved them, but they don’t work on my induction stove, what a bummer.

Toen ik werd gevraagd voor een review voor webshop Leeff, was ik snel overtuigd want zij hebben een aantal erg gave producten in het assortiment. Ik kreeg deze grijze Bitossi Home-glazen en een keramische ovenschaal, ook van Bitossi Home. Ik ben geen fantastische kok, dus ik hou van mooie keukenspullen. Als de maaltijd er al goed uitziet, is dat tenminste al iets. 😉 Ik maakte een pasta-gerecht dat helemaal niet verkeerd uitviel en vroeg naderhand aan mijn T. of de schaal makkelijk schoon te maken was (ja, hij deed de afwas) en hij zei: zijn ze dat niet allemaal? Nee dus, een bonuspunt voor de schaal.

De mintgroene Riess pan vond ik een paar maanden geleden in de kringloop, maar Leeff verkoopt hem toevallig ook in hun shop. Als je van pastelkleurige pannen houdt moet je zeker even de Pentola pannen checken (roze! zachtgeel! lila!). Ik vind ze prachtig, maar ze werken niet op mijn inductiekookplaat, balen voor mij.

A few weeks ago, my T. and I went to Piet Hein Eek, for an inspirational walk through the store and expo’s (I thought the pieces of art by Gerd Rohling were very intriguing) and a nice piece of cake in the restaurant. It always lives up to our expectations.

Een paar weken geleden bezochten mijn T. en ik Piet Hein Eek, voor een inspirerende wandeling door de winkel en tentoonstellingen (ik vond de kunst van Gerd Rohling erg intrigerend) en een lekker stuk taart in het restaurant. Een bezoekje voldoet altijd aan onze verwachtingen.

I have to admit I bought this pineapple because I thought it was so pretty. My love said: I hope the pictures didn’t turn out ok, because I kinda want you to buy another one. I had to agree, a fresh pineapple is de-li-cious.

The shell bowl and the yellow cup, I bought at a recent fleamarket. I love the fact that it’s fleamarket season again!

Ik moet toegeven dat ik deze ananas kocht omdat ik hem zo mooi vond. Mijn lief zei: ik hoop dat de foto’s mislukt zijn, want ik zou best blij zijn als je er nog een koopt. En ik was het wel met hem eens, zo lekker, zo’n verse ananas.

Het schelpenkommetje en de gele mok kocht ik pas op een rommelmarkt. Ik ben zo blij dat het weer rommelmarkt-seizoen is!

I went to concept store Outspoken and art gallery Majke Hüsstege again. They keep amaze me. I especially loved the neon and chrome installation by René van Doorn, the minty green Bubblevase by Jorine Oosterhof, the glass vase and bowl by Rogier Martens and the pictures and photography by Jeroen Blok. Laatst bezocht ik concept store Outspoken en art gallery Majke Hüsstege weer eens. Ze blijven me verbazen. Ik was vooral onder de indruk van de installatie van neon en chroom van René van Doorn, de mintgroene Bubblevase van Jorine Oosterhof, de glazen vaas en schaal van Rogier Martens en de schilderijen en foto’s van Jeroen Blok. A few weeks ago, I received two precious gifts: my mom gave me a ring that belonged to my grandma and my dad also gave me a ring. He gave my sister and me the wedding rings that belonged to my grandma, granddad and his own (I’d rather give it now, then when I’m gone, he said). We went to goldsmith Tom Nouwens and we each designed our own ring. I am thrilled.

The candle holder is by DeKoop and named Isolde. I bought it at Le Diorama and stuck it to a vintage saucer.

Een paar weken geleden kreeg ik twee bijzondere cadeaus: mijn moeder gaf me een ring die van mijn oma is geweest en mijn vader gaf me ook een ring. Hij gaf mijn zusje en mij de trouwringen van mijn oma, opa en van zichzelf (liever nu dan dat ik er niet meer ben, zei hij). We gingen naar goudsmit Tom Nouwens en ontwierpen ieder een eigen ring. Ik ben er enorm blij mee.

De kandelaar is van DeKoop en heet Isolde. Ik kocht hem Le Diorama en plakte hem op een vintage schoteltje.

The first time I saw this pillow, I was in love. And like the most items I love instantly, it turned out pretty expensive. It is the Notknot pillow by Umemi. It’s an enlarged classic knot (Turk’s head) made from Icelandic wool. After thinking about it for quite some months (maybe even years), I decided to just go ahead and buy it, when I saw it in the Dutch webshop Funnshus. Now all I need is a finished living room to show it off!

De eerste keer dat ik dit kussen zag, was ik verliefd. En zoals het werkt bij de meeste spullen die ik prachtig vind, bleek hij behoorlijk duur. Het is de Notknot van Umemi. Het is een vergrootte versie van een klassieke knoop (Turk’s head) gemaakt van IJslandse wol. Nadat ik er maanden (misschien wel jaren) over na had gedacht, besloot ik hem te kopen toen ik hem zag in de Nederlandse webshop Funnshus. Het enige dat ik nu nog nodig heb is een woonkamer om hem uit te stallen!

Today was a good day. I cleaned the house a bit, thought about what to do with this pumpkin (ideas?), went for a small shopping spree and received this cute package from Via Martine. I won a bunch of her post cards, they are really lovely. And the fun thing is, you can order these cards, but also cards with your own pictures.

Vandaag was een fijne dag. Ik deed wat aan het huishouden, bedacht me hoe ik deze pompoen zou gaan klaarmaken (tips?), ging winkelen en kreeg dit pakketje van Via Martine. Ik won een aantal van haar kaarten, ik vind ze erg mooi. Je kunt deze kaarten bij haar bestellen, maar ook kaarten met je eigen foto’s.

I am in love with Tom. I love practically every Tom Dixon design. I bought one of his copper lamps ages ago and can’t wait to give it a nice place in my living room. When I saw this candle holder from the etch collection, I fell in love once more, but thought it was way too expensive. I waited too long and it almost got sold out. But thanks to some leftover birthday money, I ordered it. Why is it so hard to give yourself a present once in a while?

The candle (that isn’t a candle), the bird and bowl, I bought at a fleamarket trip, last sunday. I like my gold.

Ik ben verliefd op Tom. Ik hou van praktisch al het design dat uit de stal van Tom Dixon komt. Eeuwen geleden, voor de kopertrend, kocht ik een van zijn koperen lampen en ik kan niet wachten om hem een plekje te geven in mijn woonkamer. Toen ik deze waxinelichthouder uit de etch collectie zag, viel ik weer in katzwijm, maar ik vond hem veel te duur. Ik wachtte te lang waardoor hij bijna overal uitverkocht was. Dankzij wat overgebleven verjaardagsgeld kocht ik hem uiteindelijk toch. Waarom is het toch zo moeilijk om jezelf af en toe een cadeautje te geven?

De kaars (die geen kaars is), de vogel en het schaaltje kocht ik afgelopen zondag op een rommelmarkt. I like my gold.
