What would Maan’s room be without some moons? When I was pregnant my dear friends gave me this Goodnight Cushion by Studio Meez. It was on my wishlist for ages. I couldn’t bear to keep it for myself of course and now it has a prominent place in my daughters room.

Wat zou Maan’s kamer zijn zonder manen? Toen ik zwanger was kreeg ik van mijn lieve vrienden dit Goodnight Cushion van Studio Meez. Ik wilde het al eeuwenlang hebben. Uiteindelijk vond ik geen betere plek voor het prachtige kussen dan de de kamer van mijn dochter.

Peonies

A while ago I bought some peonies. Such pretty flowers, their colors are gorgeous. This shade of hot pink goes tremendously well with a pink table. Peonies are definitely in my top 5 of favorite flowers.

Een tijdje geleden kocht ik pioenrozen. Zulke mooie bloemen, in prachtige kleuren. Dit hardroze past verrassend goed bij een roze tafel. Pioenrozen staan in mijn top 5 van favoriete bloemen.

So time caught up with me. I was in a blogging flow, took quite some pictures around the house and all of a sudden Maan joined the #teamnosleep bandwagon again. For a few weeks I needed all my free time to rest to get me through the day. I didn’t want these pictures to go to waste, so even though it’s in the midst of summer vacation now and the blog-crowds are really thin, here are some shots of Maan in her pastel pink bedroom.

De tijd vloog. Ik zat in een fijne blog-flow, maakte behoorlijk wat foto’s in huis en ineens liet Maan haar #teamnosleep lidmaatschap weer ingaan. Een paar weken lang had ik al mijn vrije tijd nodig om rustig aan te doen zodat ik de dagen een beetje doorkwam. Deze foto’s wilde ik niet nutteloos in mijn archief laten zitten, daarom nu, middenin de zomervakantie waarin iedereen nuttigere dingen doet dan blogs lezen, hier wat plaatjes die ik schoot van Maan in haar pastelroze slaapkamer.

This week we’ve finally booked our summer holiday. I can’t wait to be in Scandinavia in a few weeks again. In the mean time, I enjoy a few of my souvenirs from last year. I bought the rainbow tray in a Hay store in Denmark (where else?) and the pink Menu wire basket on sale. My most precious souvenirs are the pictures though. My loves together on a Danish beach with a pink sky, my heart bursts every time I look at them.

What are your favorite souvenirs? And does any one of you have, by any chance, shopping/loppis tips for the area between Goteborg and Jönköping?

Deze week hebben we eindelijk onze zomervakantie geboekt. Ik kan echt niet wachten om over een paar weken weer in Scandinavië te zijn. Tot die tijd geniet ik van mijn souvenirs van vorig jaar. Het regenboog schaaltje kocht ik in een Deense Hay winkel (waar anders?) en de lichtroze Menu mand vond ik dik in de uitverkoop. Mijn dierbaarste souvenirs zijn echter de foto’s. Mijn liefdes op een Deens strand met roze lucht: mijn hart barst elke keer dat ik ernaar kijk.

Wat zijn jullie favoriete souvenirs? En heeft iemand van jullie misschien shopping/loppis tips voor het gebied tussen Gothenburg en Jönköping?

During our (almost never-ending) renovation, I dreamed of shelves in the living room that I could style over and over. These Bracket shelves by Hay are all I wished for and more.

Last week our little family took a trip to Portugal. We stayed in the small village of Vale Furado in a fantastic wooden house, a five minute walk from the beach. The sea was so close we needed a baby monitor when we sat outside and Maan was sleeping, because all you could hear was the ocean. We made plans to visit the surroundings, but in the end all we did was go to the beach, eat and sleep. Just what we needed.

As you can see, Maan is a little treasure hunter, just like her mom.

Tijdens Hemelvaart zaten wij een weekje in Portugal. We verbleven in het kleine dorpje Vale Furado in een fantastich houten huisje, vijf minuten lopen van het strand. De zee was zo dichtbij dat we niet zonder babyfoon konden als Maan sliep en wij op de veranda wilden zitten, omdat je er niets anders hoorde dan de oceaan. We hadden bedacht dat we allerlei mooie plekken in de omgeving zouden bezoeken, maar uiteindelijk bestonden onze dagen vooral uit strand, lekker eten en slapen. Precies wat we nodig hadden.

Zoals je ziet is Maan net zo’n schatzoeker als haar moeder, nu al.

Vintage finds

Last week, the Netherlands celebrated Kingsday and that means: flea markets everywhere, yay! Every year my friend Wendel and I search for treasures together, I looked forward to it for weeks. Last Thursday I found a ridiculous amount of toys and clothes for Maan. I also found this beautiful brass vase and blue-greyish glass vase. Score! What was your latest thrift find?

The clear glass vase was an earlier thrift find, so are the marble plates. The globe with volcanic rock was a souvenir from La Palma. The pink ceramic base is by Lenneke Wispelwey, the pink ceramic tray by &Klevering and the Paper Table by Studio Job for Moooi.

(The last picture is a bonus for my readers who think I am a neat person. Há, you are so wrong! This is only the tip of the iceberg.)

Afgelopen week was weer een van mijn favoriete dagen van het jaar: Koningsdag. Dat betekent… vrijmarkten, overal waar je kijkt, jiha! Wendel en ik gaan elk jaar samen op schattenjacht, ik keek er al weken naar uit. Afgelopen donderdag vond ik vooral belachelijk veel speelgoed en kleding voor Maan. Ik vond ook deze mooie messing vaas en een blauwgrijze glazen bolvaas. Score! Heb jij nog wat gevonden?

De heldere glazen vaas is een eerdere kringloopvondst, net als de marmeren onderzetters. De glazen bol met vulkanisch gesteente is een souvenir uit La Palma. Het roze keramieken plateautje is van Lenneke Wispelwey, het roze schaaltje van &Klevering en de Paper Table is van Studio Job voor Moooi.

(De laatste foto is een bonus voor mijn lezers die denken dat ik netjes en opgeruimd ben. Há, dit is nog maar het topje van de ijsberg!)

Aurum

So when we turned on the Aurum lamp by Alex de Witte, our home looked like a construction site, but my love found a solution: a dimmable lamp!

Toen we de Aurum lamp van Alex de Witte aanzetten, leek ons huis wel een bouwplaats, maar mijn lief vond de oplossing: een dimbare lamp!

For a lazy seasonal decorator like me, these golden eggs are perfect. I found them at a flea market last week. Pretty tricky to put them in place (they have a sense of balance of their own) but don’t they set the Easter mood brilliantly?

Ik ben nogal lui als het aankomt op versieren rondom de feestdagen, maar deze gouden eieren zijn perfect. Ik vond ze vorige week op een rommelmarkt. Wel een beetje lastig neerzetten (ze zijn een beetje ei-genwijs, haha) maar áls ze dan staan heb je ook meteen de Paassfeer te pakken, nietwaar?
