Sunday (& give away)

Past friday I’ve celebrated my birthday in our future living room. We’ve decorated it a little bit and it starts to look like a real house. Today I had a lazy sunday, enjoying the progress down stairs, wearing sweat pants, slippers and eating left over chocolates.

If you want to join the Collégien give away: tuesday is the last day to enter. The only thing you have to do is take a photo why you need a pair and tag us. You can post the pic on Facebook, twitter, instagram or your blog.

Afgelopen vrijdag vierde ik mijn verjaardag in de toekomstige woonkamer. Met een beetje aankleding lijkt het bijna op een echt huis. Vandaag had ik een luie zondag, waarin ik genoot van de vooruitgang beneden, de hele dag een joggingbroek en sloffen droeg en overgebleven chocolaatjes (en ok, ook een beetje chips) at.

Mocht je nog mee willen doen met de Collégien give away: dinsdag is de laatste dag dat je mee kan doen. Het enige dat je hoeft te doen is een foto maken waarom jij een paar sloffen nodig hebt of verdient en dit aan ons laten weten via een tag. 31!

Today is my birthday, yeah! One of the first presents I received is this calendar by De Krantenkapper. De Krantenkapper is a duo (sister Lotte and Janneke) from Den Bosch that designs and sells things like stamps, cards and temporary tattoos. Maybe you know their awesome Crystal Stencil? I bought the tattoos a few months ago, but they are just too cool to use. A few days ago, I was very surprised to find the calendar in my mailbox. I looove it.

Vandaag ben ik jarig, jeeeej! Een van de eerste cadeautjes die ik kreeg, is deze kalender van De Krantenkapper. De Krantenkapper is een duo (zussen Lotte en Janneke) uit Den Bosch dat stempels, kaarten, tijdelijke tattoos en nog veel meer moois ontwerpt. Misschien kun je hun geweldige kristalmal? Afgelopen zomer kocht ik de tattoos, maar ik vind ze zo cool, durf ze niet te gebruiken. Een paar dagen geleden werd ik enorm verrast, want ik vond de kalender zomaar bij me in de brievenbus. I looove it.

Tuesday

A few random pictures from the past week. Have you seen the Collégien give-away I’m hosting? You can join until the 17th of December. The design of the slippers I choose is by Domestic and Ionna Vautrin, you can find them online now. They glow in the dark (you do have to shine a bright lamp on them, my iphone lamp worked. Pretty cool).

Het design van de sloffen die ik koos is van Domestic en Ionna Vautrin, ze staan nu online. Ze geven licht in het donker (als je er een felle lamp op schijnt, de lamp van mijn iphone lamp werkte. Pretty cool).

Winter

The weather is getting colder and colder, I miss the sun already. I like getting my house ready for the holiday season though! I have sent in a picture of my poodle for the winter animals gallery on the Zilverblauw-blog. Take a look, it is pretty funny.

Het weer wordt kouder en kouder, ik mis de zon nu al. Ik vind het wel leuk om mijn huis alvast klaar te maken voor de feestdagen. Ik heb een foto van mijn poedel ingestuurd voor de winterdieren-gallerie op het Zilverblauw-blog. Neem een kijkje, het is te grappig.

Collégien

I was lucky enough to have a pair of slippers sent to me by the people of Collégien, I love them! I think they are cool and very comfy, with their rubber soles. I can be quite clumsy, so this makes a trip downstairs a bit more safe. And my warm toes are a plus too.

Wat een geluk, ik kreeg een paar Collégien-sloffen opgestuurd en ik vind ze geweldig! Ik vind ze gaaf en ze zitten fijn, vooral door de rubberen zool. Soms ben ik best een beetje onhandig en hiermee ren ik net weer wat veiliger de trap af. En mijn tenen blijven warm, ook een plus.

The Kitchen!

Finally, FINALLY, our American Kitchen is complete! I am so happy with the result. We (or to be frank T.) used the design from the 50s by Raymond Loewy and made it modern and to our taste. We had a lot of setbacks, but in the end, all the struggles were worth it.

Eindelijk, EINDELIJK is onze American Kitchen-keuken compleet! Ik ben zo blij met het resultaat. We (of eigenlijk T.) gebruikten het design van Raymond Loewy uit de jaren ’50 en pasten het aan naar deze tijd en onze smaak. We hadden heel wat tegenslagen, maar uiteindelijk was al het gedoe het waard.

Weekend

Sometimes I wish we had an extra day between saturday and sunday. But maybe having only two weekend days makes them extra special.

On saturday I did some grocery shopping, cleaned the house and I enhanced the thrifted tray with marble sticker. Sunday I had an easy start and in the afternoon I went to my sweet sister’s birthday. I wish I had more days like these.

Soms zou ik willen dat we een extra dag hadden, tussen zaterdag en zondag in. Maar misschien is het juist wel goed dat we maar twee weekenddagen hebben, maakt ze extra speciaal.

Zaterdag deed ik wat boodschappen, maakte ik wat schoon in huis en beplakte ik een dienblad van de kringloop met marmer-sticker. Zondag begon lekker rustig en ’s middags ging ik op verjaardagsvisite bij mij lieve zus. Ik zou wel meer van deze dagen willen hebben.

I am blown away, it is packed with inspiration, cool DIY-ideas and amazing photography. I am in need of the inspiration, because we’re a step closer to ending the never-ending renovation story. Dankzij lieve Marloes heb ik nu mijn eigen exemplaar van het geweldige Ok-boek van twee van mijn favoriete Scandinavische bloggers Susanna Vento van Varpunen en Riika Kantinkoski van Weekday Carnival. Ik ben enorm onder de indruk, het boek staat bomvol inspiratie, gave DIY-ideeën en prachtige fotografie. En laat ik dat nou net nodig hebben, want we zijn weer een stap verder in de never-ending renovation story. De muren zijn gestuukt…

DDW III

I still had some DDW-pictures I wanted to share. These were all shot at the TAC-building. Picture no. 1 the installation Oscillation Bowls by David Derksen. The third and fourth picture shows parts of the My Sweet Design Fair by Hello Randomness.

Ik had nog wat DDW-foto’s die ik hier wilde delen. Deze foto’s nam ik allemaal in het TAC-gebouw. Foto 1 is van de installatie Oscillation Bowls van David Derksen. De derde en vierde foto zijn van My Sweet Design Fair door Hello Randomness.
